Join me for a thoughtfully paced 2-day winter photography workshop along the dramatic Dorset Jurassic Coast - a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its geology, cliffs, and ever-changing coastal light.
This workshop is designed for photographers who want to slow down, shoot with intention, and deepen their creative approach, while making the most of winter’s softer light and quieter landscapes.
With just 5 participants, the experience is intimate, supportive, and focused, allowing plenty of individual guidance both in the field and during discussions.

2 sunset shoots, timed to make the most of winter light
Extensive guided photography sessions along the Jurassic Coast

We’ll work across some of the best photography locations on the Dorset Jurassic Coast, selected based on conditions, tides, and light. Possible locations may include:
Durdle Door & Man O’ War Cove
Lulworth Cove & Stair Hole
Kimmeridge Bay
Swanage & Banjo Pier
Corfe Castle
Old Harry Rocks
Exact locations will be confirmed closer to the workshop to ensure the best possible photographic opportunities.
Who This Workshop Is For
This workshop is suited to:
Enthusiast and intermediate photographers
DSLR or mirrorless users (all brands welcome)
Anyone looking to develop confidence in coastal photography and creative decision-making
You should be comfortable walking short coastal paths and working outdoors in winter conditions. Please note the walk over from Lulworth to Durdle Door is hilly and quite strenuous so a moderate fitness level could be required.
Accommodation & Meals
Accommodation is not included, but I’m happy to help recommend local options for those travelling in.
We’ll aim to have dinner together as a group in the evening (optional). Meals are not included in the workshop price. But I will pre book somewhere close to these locations for ease.
What to Expect:
We will meet on the afternoon / evening of 1st February once everyone has arrived for hellos and an introduction to the workshop.
We will then be ready to start shooting the following morning, heading out for a sunrise on location, and the rest of the itinerary will follow from there…. This will have a rough plan as follows, but please note this may be subject to change on the basis of weather conditions.

Sunday 1st February – Evening Meet & Introductions
Late afternoon / early evening meet-up at a local café or accommodation base
Introductions and outline of the workshop
Discussion around expectations, experience levels, and creative goals
Overview of tides, weather, and planned shooting locations
A relaxed start, allowing everyone to settle in and feel comfortable before shooting begins.
Monday 2nd February – Full Day Shooting & Editing
Morning
Early start for sunrise shoot at a selected Jurassic Coast location
Guided photography session focusing on composition, light, and working with coastal conditions
Coffee and breakfast stop (not included in price)
Late Morning
Further shooting at one or more nearby locations
Time to explore details, wider scenes, and creative approaches
Informal photography discussions in the field
Afternoon
Editing session: reviewing and processing images together
Discussion around workflow, image selection, and creative intent
Late afternoon
Travel to sunset location
Sunset shoot, making the most of winter light and atmosphere
Optional group dinner and relaxed discussion afterwards (dinner not included in price)
Tuesday 3rd February – Final Day & Closing Session

What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather is part of coastal photography, especially in winter, and often adds atmosphere and drama to images. The workshop will go ahead in most conditions. If weather, tides, or safety require changes, the itinerary and locations may be adapted to ensure the best and safest photographic experience possible.
In the unlikely event that conditions are unsafe and the workshop cannot run, this will be handled in line with the Terms & Conditions.
What level of photography experience do I need?
This workshop is best suited to any enthusiast and intermediate photographers. You should be comfortable using your camera in manual or semi-manual modes. All camera brands are welcome.
What camera gear should I bring?
A suggested kit list will be provided closer to the workshop, but as a general guide:
DSLR or mirrorless camera
Wide-angle and standard zoom or prime lenses
Fully charged batteries and spare memory cards
Tripod
Filters (if you use them)
Laptop for the editing session
Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear
You don’t need specialist or expensive equipment - guidance will be tailored to what you already use.
Is accommodation included?
No, accommodation is not included in the workshop price. However, I’m happy to recommend local accommodation options for those travelling in.
Are meals included?
Meals are not included in the workshop price. We’ll aim to eat together in the evenings (optional), and I will pre-book a suitable restaurant close to our locations for ease.
