I'm Emily - an award-winning landscape and outdoor photographer, writer and creative mentor, drawn to wild places, changing light and the connection we have with the natural world.
My photography journey began as a child, experimenting with an old film camera. What started as play gradually became something much bigger. In 2012, I launched Emily Endean Photography alongside my day job, and after a decade of building my business and honing my craft, I took the leap into full-time freelance photography in 2022.
Since then, I've been fortunate to work with some wonderful brands, publications and tourism boards, travel to some incredible places and, most importantly, continue doing what I love.
In 2026, I was honoured to receive Landscape Photographer of the Year at the British Photography Awards, adding to a collection of awards and recognition across the years. But for me, photography has never really been about the accolades. It's about the experiences, the places, the people and the stories behind the images.
Photography, Stories & Creative Projects
My work spans landscape and seascape photography, commercial and lifestyle campaigns, travel, editorial and visual storytelling.
The ocean has always been my anchor. I'm happiest with a camera in hand, whether that's standing on a windswept coastline waiting for the first light of the day, exploring somewhere new in our old Hymer motorhome, or getting right into the water to photograph the ocean from within.
I'm drawn to natural light, atmosphere, movement and those fleeting moments that can so easily pass us by. My approach is rooted in curiosity and connection - looking beyond the obvious and finding beauty in the details, the ordinary and the unexpected.
Alongside my photography, I write, create video content and share the stories behind my work through articles, workshops, my blog and YouTube channel.
I'm also currently bringing together 15 years of ocean and coastal photography in my forthcoming book, Quiet Coastlines - a personal collection celebrating the beauty, stillness and ever-changing nature of our shores.
Workshops, Photography Tours & Creative Mentoring
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping other photographers grow in confidence, develop their creative eye and discover what they're capable of.
I lead photography workshops, destination tours and creative experiences, including my female-focused trips in collaboration with SheClicks. From the Scottish Highlands to Iceland, Madeira and India, these experiences are about so much more than taking photographs.
They're about slowing down, exploring incredible places, learning new skills, sharing experiences and finding your own creative voice.
Whether you're just starting out or have been photographing for years, I want my workshops to be welcoming, supportive and inspiring. No silly questions, no pressure to keep up - just a shared love of photography and the opportunity to learn in some extraordinary places.
I also offer one-to-one mentoring and tuition, helping photographers work through technical challenges, develop their editing skills and build confidence in their own creative direction.

A Little More About Me
Outside of photography, you'll usually find me somewhere near the ocean, swimming, exploring a new coastline or travelling in our old Hymer motorhome, Hymie, with my wife Carol.
I'm a chaser of light, an ocean addict and a lover of nature. I believe there's something special about slowing down, being present and taking the time to really see what's around us.
Photography has given me the opportunity to explore the world, meet wonderful people and experience places in ways I might otherwise never have imagined. It's also taught me that the best photographs don't always come from the grandest locations or the most expensive equipment - sometimes they come from simply being there, paying attention and seeing things a little differently.
