The Lime Wood Hotel is a classic and elegant wedding venue which was the romantic setting for Penny & Nicks big day. Located in the heart of the New Forest in Lyndhurst, this exclusive hotel is bursting with character. Definitely a venue that suited Penny & Nick down to the ground (and in good company alongside Noel Gallagher who also wed here!)
It was a joy to be a part of the couples big day especially knowing Penny for several years and it is an honour to be able to tell their fairytale story wedding through my pictures.
The day commenced with my arrival as the staff were still setting up around the venue. The first thing that caught my attention was the smell of flowers by the talented Catherine Coombes; the stairway was the main feature which I stood photographing for quite some time! The entire venue was being dressed with the most stunning display of floral beauty... this alone made me feel quite emotional. Never mind when I went up to greet Penny! After capturing as many of the details as possible while I had some time alone to wander around with my camera, I headed up for some bridal preparation photos with Penny and her friends. I have to say it was the most relaxed bridal preparations I have ever seen! Perhaps the G&Ts might have had something to do with that...
Penny looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, designed by the fabulous Angelina Colarusso and beautifully glam shoes by Manolo Blahnik.
Once we had grabbed some shots of Penny on the stairwell making the most of the gorgeous flowers, she headed back up to make an entrance via a private stair well and I made my way into the ceremony.
Awaiting his beautiful bride was Nick, who polished up pretty smartly too! As Penny entered and made her way to ber husband to be, everyone watched on in awe. It was an enchanting ceremony, capturing them recite their vows amongst the flowers and trees - Penny really did get her wish of bringing the outside in!
Onto the celebratory drinks and a few quick shots of the couple before dinner, taking advantage of the gorgeous flower lined staircase. At dinner, the room was low lit and romantic with name place cards and menus which were handwritten by Calligraphy for Weddings - simply stunning! Next came the speeches, which were both heartfelt and witty. Followed by the cake cutting - and wow what a cake - or cakes should I say!? A fantastic selection laid out in a mouthwatering display by Emma at Fancie Buns. Then came the dancing where I got to shoot from the rooftop! The party had really started! The whole day was a delight from start to finish and a wedding I feel absolutely honoured to have played such an important role in.
While I prepare the presentation box and load the images into my client area, here are a small selection of my favourite wedding photos from the special day.
